Riyadh (TNRI Staff Reporter): Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) Riyadh hosted their traditional Ramadan Iftar feast with great fervor at the glimmering banquet hall of Pak House, Riyadh. Br. Shafi, a gold medalist motivational speaker presented an inspirational talk on “Positive Attitude”. AMUOBA Riyadh also launched their revamped website with great features and urged the Aligs to register themselves on it.
The solemn event started with the recitation of Noble Qur’an by Mohammad Khallaque. The proceedings were anchored by AMUOBA Gen. Secretary, Dr. Mohammad Abul Farah. Engr. Syed Mohammad Mutayyab, President AMUOBA Riyadh welcomed the august gathering and thanked them for attending the function. The new Executive Committee elected for 2018-2010 has many quality and value adding programs in its calendar he pronounced. He also mentioned the “Shaam-E-Ghazal” concert organized by AMUOBA Riyadh in which they invited Ghazal Maestro Mohammed Vakil, March this year. A series of exciting events are lined up this year he added and urged the Aligs to get AMUOBA Membership Card. The annual fee for the membership is SR 300, which gives many privileges to its members apart from attending AMUOBA Riyadh’s programs free of charge. He reiterated that Aligs will continue to work for the betterment of Indian community in Riyadh and back home in India.
AMUOBA Riyadh made another big announcement of the launch of their renovated website www.amuobariyadh.com at this event. Dr. Faisal Kamal Zaidi, briefly outlined the important features of the newly designed site and requested the Aligs to take full advantage of it by registering on it and visiting it frequently. He stressed the user-friendly search facility and advised the site members to drill down to the desired sorted results which would be extremely useful. He asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, in case the user faces any difficulty in registration or otherwise. This website also provides a glimpse of history of Aligarh Muslim University, its founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and AMUOBA Riyadh since its inception in 1996.
This event was attended by many prominent personalities of Riyadh, Heads of various Organizations and remarkably the First Secretary of Indian Embassy, Dr. Hifzur Rahman Azmi.
