Khamis Mushait – Saudi Arabian Telugu Association (SATA) along with Global Indians – Abha Team organized a wonderful cultural event titled “Great Indian Festival Season 3” last Friday in the beautiful city of Khamis Mushait of Abha area, Asir Region in southern Saudi Arabia. The event portrayed unity in diversity of India with the representations of many States of India.

SATA is a large and organized association of Telugu speakers in the country. Its branches are established in every city of Saudi Arabia. Their members are numbered in the thousands, hailing from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states of India.

Apart from sports, competitions for people of all ages were arranged by SATA. This cultural festival was organized on the occasion of the New Year presenting interesting programs of songs and dances. Cultural musical performances by students of Lana Advanced International School and Al Janoub International School were highly applauded. There were exclusive singers from Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi languages.

Many companies offered their support in organizing this festival. Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Azmat Basha Sheikh and renowned journalist Irfan Muhammad participated in this program through Zoom. He advised his messenger to serve his state and country in unity and make the country illustrious. He also wished “Pongal” to the Telugu community.

Dr. T. Jayashankar and Abha Executive Team played a key role in organizing this program. The founder and president of SATA MalleSan also participated in the program. Apart from this, presidents of various city units Dr. Bhaskar Reddy, Saleem Basha, Dr. Nageshwar Reddy, Dr. Swamy also participated. A large number of members of Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha, Al-Bisha and Al-Darb units also participated in the event.

SATA finally presented special community awards to Dr. Riyaz, K. Ashraf, E. Abdul Jalil, A. Rafeeq, Biju Nair and N. Bashir.
