RIYADH – Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club Riyadh organized its annual suhoor lecture entitled “Ramadan is the month of celebration of Quran”. The keynote speaker, Waseem Qureshi spoke on this topic. Well-known journalist M.A. Majid who came from Hyderabad graced the occassion as the Chief Guest. President of Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club, TM K. N. Wasif presided over the function. Journalists Dr. Asif Ali and Naeem Ghori, who were on a visit to Saudi Arabia, also participated in the event as Guests of Honor.
The keynote speaker Waseem Qureshi said that reciting the holy Quran is an act of goodness and very much rewarding in the month of Ramadan. He said that if one studies it with the translation, interpretation and introspection then it is a much better practice. He said that the holy Quran is a book of guidance for all. If we understand the Qur’an, we will act and adapt the instructions of the Almighty in our lives. Qureshi said that Ramadan is the month of staying away from evil and adopting piety. Qureshi added that Arabic is a complete language and hence the noble Quran was revealed in Arabic language. He stressed to strengthen one’s connection with the Qur’an and try to attract others to it. If we search Google for the most difficult languages to learn, you will find Arabic in the top most languages. But this is not true. Arabic can be easily learned in a systematic way. So one should learn Arabic to understand Qur’an in a better way.
Immediate Past President of BUTMC, TM Mohammad Saifuddin moderated the meeting. He welcomed the audience and introduced the guests from Hyderabad. As per the tradition of Toastmasters, Sergeant at Arms, TM Kausar Naseem brought the meeting to order. The meeting started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by TM Syed Abdul Hamid, the treasurer of the Club. Past President, TM Dr. Sayeed Mohiuddin introduced the Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club, shedding light on its formation, activities and achievements. He motivated the audience to join the Club highlighting the glorious past of the Club. He added that two of its distinguished members served as Area Directors – 1) Founder President Arc. Abdul Rahman Saleem and 2) Past President, Mirza Zaheer Baig (current Area 1 Director). IJFF Global President Dr. Asif Ali presented a shawl in traditional way to the Key Note Speaker, Waseem Qureshi and handed over a commemorative memento. A large number of representatives of various social organizations, toastmasters and other guests participated in this annual event of Bazm-e-Urdu Toastmasters Club. The meeting came to an end with the vote of thanks by the Vice President (Education), TM Syed Ateeq Ahmed. Audience was invited on the dais to take memorable group photos with the Chief Guest and Guests of Honor.
