ADEN – Indian Ambassador to Yemen (concurrent charge) Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan Presents Credentials to President of the Republic of Yemen.
Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, having concurrent accreditation for Yemen, ( based in Riyadh) , officially presented his credentials to His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Republic of Yemen and Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Republic of Yemen in a ceremony held in Aden today. This significant occasion marks the formal beginning of Ambassador Khan’s role as India’s Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen. Dr Shaya Zindani, Yemen Foreign Minister was also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Khan expressed his deep commitment to enhancing the already close and friendly relations between India and Yemen. Ambassador in his meeting with the President, also spoke about the cooperation in defence between the two countries, ITEC Courses and ICCR Scholarships being availed by the Yemeni citizens etc.
The Honorable President Dr. Al – Alimi, fondly recalling his association with India, expressed confidence in the age old India – Yemen relationship, and also expressed his desire to widen and deepen the relationship between the two countries.
In addition to his meeting with President Al-Alimi, Ambassador Dr. Khan is scheduled to engage with various local interlocutors, government officials, and members of the Indian community during his visit. The discussions are expected to cover a wide range of areas including trade, culture, education, and health, with the aim of expanding collaboration for the benefit of both countries.
