JEDDAH – The Indian community in Jeddah hosted a reception ceremony for the new Consul General of India, Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, recently in the auditorium of International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ). The reception was attended by members of different states from the Indian diaspora living in Jeddah, officials from the consulate, members of the IISJ management, and officials from IISJ.
The reception ceremony attracted a remarkable turnout of community members and distinguished guests all eager to show their support.
Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by Zaina Ghazali.
Asim Zeeshan, the master of the ceremony, managed the event in a professional manner. Vijay Soni, the General Secretary of the Saudi Indian Business Network, delivered the welcome speech.
During his keynote speech, Fahad Suri thanked the Indian community sincerely for their continued support and highlighted the importance of enhancing trade ties between KSA and India. Mr. Suri emphasized the significance of cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that enhanced trade can result in more extensive cultural and economic interactions. He also mentioned that by working together, Indian professionals can collaborate to enhance trade relations, opening up opportunities for investment and innovation, leading to a bright future ahead. He also mentioned that the Indian consulate has started the process of registering Indian businesses and professionals to establish a database. Additionally, he restated that the open house event with the community will persist with a heightened level of focus.
The occasion included lively cultural performances by skilled children from Good Hope Academy and Phenom Group, displaying the diverse culture of India. The festive mood was elevated by the traditional dances, music, and songs performed by Sikandar and Amjad Baig, fostering a sense of togetherness and common goals. A live show put on by the Calicut Music Lovers Club continued to captivate the crowd with songs in various languages.
