JEDDAH – The “Anantholsavam 2025” at the Indian Consulate appears to have been a vibrant and culturally rich event celebrating Ananthapuri, the city of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), in Kerala, India.

The Thiruvananthapuram Swadeshi Sangamam (TSS) Jeddah’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, titled Anantholsavam 2025, was a grand event held on January 17th, 2025, at the Indian Consulate in Jeddah. This milestone celebration showcased the rich cultural heritage of Kerala through a variety of arts and cultural programs, embodying the spirit of unity and tradition among the expatriate community. The program started with a Welcome speech by Hashim Kallambalam, the event convener, who set the stage for an evening of performances and festivities.

The celebration was elevated by the enchanting performances of renowned playback singers Akbar Khan and Anju Joseph, their captivating renditions brought thrilling moments to the audience, making the event truly memorable. The Cultural Conference was inaugurated by Indian Haj Consul Muhammad Abdul Jaleel, who commended the Malayali community for their distinctive and vibrant cultural contributions, highlighted their leadership in organizing unique and meaningful cultural programs that set them apart from others. “Nasser Memorial Award” has been presented to Masood Balaramapuram, a prominent philanthropist based in Jeddah, for his exceptional contributions to society and Mrs. Rajiya Veeran, a renowned writer and cultural activist got the “Mahesh Velayudhan” Memorial Award for her significant impact on literature and cultural advocacy. The Anantholsavam 2025 included special honours for individuals who have significantly contributed to their community and fields of work, showcasing the spirit of achievement and dedication among the Malayali expatriates.  Shajeer Kaniyapuram a founding member of the Thiruvananthapuram Swadeshi Sangamam Jeddah (TSS) and a dedicated social activist, recognized for his pivotal role in the organization’s growth and impact and  Mohammad Nabeel, the CEO of UK-based NBL International and a young entrepreneur, celebrated for his achievements in business and as a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs within the community. These awards added a layer of recognition and respect to the event, celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to culture and community welfare.

The Anantholsavam 2025 celebration showcased a variety of cultural performances that captivated the audience with their artistic excellence and storytelling. Kannaki Dance Drama Presented by Phenom Arts Academy, performed by Mrs. Neeta Jinu, showcased life of the legendary tale of Kannaki, vividly depicted Kannaki’s fierce fight for justice to her husband Kovalan. Another masterpiece choreographed by Mrs. Pushpa Suresh, presented by the talented artists of Good Hope Academy, showcased the rich tradition of Indian classical dance forms. Audiences were thrilled with the dazzling performance by Mrs. Moushmi Shareef and Mrs. Aiswariya Tharun, representing the cultural artistry of TSS and Subin Master on behalf of Phenom Academy, added his unique flair to the event, enhancing its artistic diversity. These performances not only highlighted the cultural richness of Kerala but also demonstrated the artistic talents thriving within the expatriate community in Jeddah.

The event was presented by Najeeb Venjaramoodu, Amina Muhammad, Ayesha Maryam, Minza Fatima, Asna Muhammad, Yaseen Shareef and managed by TSS Executive Members. President Tharun Retnakaran presided over the program, providing leadership and ensuring its smooth execution. General Secretary Shareef Pallipuram extended a warm welcome to the attendees, setting a positive tone for the cultural festivities. The Treasurer, Shahin Shajahan, concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and attendees for their contributions to the celebration’s success.
