“They Came, They Performed, They Conquered”
JEDDAH – The recently concluded Youth Leadership Program (YLP) Finale, organized by AMUOBA Jeddah in collaboration with Toastmasters District 104, was a grand celebration of young talent and leadership. The evening showcased the eloquence, confidence, and charisma of 25 youth participants who had completed an intensive eight-week training program led by a team of distinguished Toastmasters.
The event was graced by Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Marwan Dashash, the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker, who delivered an inspiring address on the transformative power of YLP in nurturing future leaders. Saad Anwar, a young entrepreneur and Guest of Honor, motivated the participants with his presence and awarded them medals.
The program began with a soulful Talawat-e-Quran by Ateeq Siddiqui, followed by a warm welcome and introduction by General Secretary Dr. Prince Zia Mufti, who also anchored the event with charisma and flair. AMUOBA Jeddah President Aqeel Jamil delivered a stirring speech, emphasizing perseverance and growth. “Like the journey of YLP, growth comes one step at a time,” he remarked. “At AMUOBA, inspired by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s vision, we are committed to empowering youth for a brighter tomorrow. Programs like YLP are seeds planted today for a flourishing future.”
Toastmaster and YLP Chair Omer Aqeel Khan eloquently outlined the YLP journey, explaining the comprehensive training in communication and leadership skills. He expertly conducted the three phases of the YLP Showcase: Prepared Speeches, Speech Evaluations, and Table Topics (Impromptu Speeches). Each segment highlighted the participants’ exceptional growth and confidence, earning them resounding applause.
Distinguished Toastmasters trainers included TM Omer Khan, DTM Riyaz Sarang, DTM Basheer Ambalavan, DTM Abuzar, and DTM Samia Aqeel Khan, under the patronage of OMG Club Toastmasters club President DTM Joey Villanueva.
Youth leaders were presented with medals and certificates by the AMUOBA executive committee and dignitaries to honor their achievements. Additionally, AMUOBA advisors—Farzan Rizvi, Nooruddin Khan, Azizurrab, Ateeq Siddiqui, and President Aqeel Jamil—presented mementos to the Toastmasters trainers, the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honor, and the target speaker, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their contributions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vice President Asim Zeeshan Khan, who appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in making the YLP a success.
The YLP Finale was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and participants alike. It was a powerful testament to AMUOBA Jeddah’s commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and a shining example of how mentorship and vision can transform young minds.
