Jubail – The Jubail Tamil Sangam hosted a magnificent Pongal Festival celebration, honoring the rich Tamil culture and traditions. The event drew a large gathering of Tamil people, making it a memorable day for all attendees.
The festivities kicked off in the morning with the traditional cooking of Pongal, setting the stage for a day filled with cultural activities. The celebration featured an array of Tamil folk songs, dance performances, the traditional martial art of Silambam, and various engaging games such as Uriyadi (pot-breaking game) and tug-of-war, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere for both children and adults.
Traditional meals were served on banana leaves, preserving the authenticity of Tamil customs and adding to the cultural experience. The cultural performances, which commenced with the lighting of the kuthu vilakku (traditional lamp), captivated the audience and showcased the vibrant Tamil heritage.
The event was attended by numerous business leaders, representatives from various social organizations, and over a thousand participants, adding to the special ambiance of the celebration.
The meticulous organization of the festival was led by the Jubail Tamil Sangam team, including President Mr. Prem, alongside Mr. Brahmarayan, Mr. Prasad, Mr. Sikander Basha, Mr. Karthik, and Mr. Saravanan Ramdoss. Their dedicated efforts ensured a grand and successful event, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
