Dr. Afsar Khan, a distinguished educationist, was conferred with the prestigious ‘Lokmat Global Excellence Award’ at a grand event held in Hong Kong. This honor was presented to Dr. Khan during the ‘Lokmat Summit and Awards 2025’ function by renowned film actor Sonu Sood. The award recognizes Dr. Khan’s exceptional contributions to the field of education.
Dr. Khan serves as the Director and Principal of Winchester International School, Aurangabad. His illustrious 50-year career in education has seen him contribute to the establishment and success of numerous esteemed educational institutions, both in India and abroad, including stints in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Notably, he also served as Principal of the International Indian School in Riyadh for 12 years.
A scholar with a rich academic background (BSc, MA, MEd, PhD), Dr. Khan is a celebrated writer and a stalwart in promoting the Urdu language. His efforts to introduce Urdu as a subject in English-medium schools in Aurangabad are highly commendable. Dr. Khan actively supports Urdu literary and cultural activities and serves as the editor-in-chief of the unique magazine Afsana Nama. His short stories, published under the title Mere Afsane, have garnered acclaim, with a second collection currently in progress.
