KARUNAGAPPALLY, KERALA – The spirit of compassion was palpable at the Sreedhareeyam Convention Center in Karunagappally as the Riyadh-based Mythri Karunagappally Association celebrated its 20th anniversary with the impactful “Mythri Karunya Hastam” program. The event saw the distribution of ₹20 lakh in financial aid, with ₹10,000 each being granted to 200 deserving cancer patients.
The initiative underscores Mythri Karunagappally Association’s long-standing commitment to charitable endeavors. The program was inaugurated by Minister Chinchu Rani, who lauded Mythri for its significant contributions to society and highlighted the urgent need to address the growing challenges posed by cancer. Minister Rani expressed concern over instances of families abandoning cancer patients and praised Mythri’s compassionate support as an exemplary model for others to follow.
Renowned oncologist Dr. V.P. Gangadharan delivered a powerful keynote address on the crucial topic, “Don’t Be Afraid of Cancer,” offering insights and encouragement to those affected by the disease. Dr. Gangadharan also inaugurated the financial distribution by handing over the first cheque to a patient, Santhosh.
Mythri President Rahman Munambath presided over the function, emphasizing the association’s dedication to supporting vulnerable communities. C.R. Mahesh, MLA, also addressed the gathering, delivering a significant keynote speech.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests and speakers, including Dr. Sujith Vijayanpillai MLA, former MP Adv. A.M. Ariff, Dr. Punalur Somarajan (Secretary and Managing Trustee of Gandhibhavan), R. Rajashekharan, and Nazeer Khan, all of whom acknowledged Mythri’s commendable work.
In a gesture of appreciation, Minister Chinchu Rani honored Firoz Nallanthara, CEO of Lividas Pharmaceuticals, and Madanan Pillai, Managing Director of Sreedhareeyam Convention Center, with appreciation plaques for their contributions to charitable causes. Sudheer Noorin, Chairman of K Live Media & Community, presented a memento to Mythri in recognition of their outstanding charitable work.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mythri Advisory Board Chairman and General Convener Shamnad Karunagappally, setting a tone of solidarity and support. The vote of thanks was delivered by Treasurer Sadiq Karunagappally, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The proceedings were skillfully anchored by Niyas E. Kutti.
