Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a remarkable act of humanitarian cooperation, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Global Telangana Forum (GTF) successfully facilitated the repatriation of Balakishan, a Telangana native who had been battling a severe brain stroke in Saudi Arabia. The collaborative efforts of diplomats, community organizations, and volunteers ensured his safe return to India.
Balakishan, who had been receiving intensive treatment at Sanad Hospital for five months—including two unsuccessful brain surgeries—spent two months in a coma before regaining consciousness. Though he continues to experience paralysis on his right side and faces difficulty in speech, his mental alertness and recognition of people reflect his unwavering resilience.
The Indian Embassy played a crucial role in orchestrating his repatriation, offering necessary guidance and logistical assistance. Additionally, the unwavering support of GTF, under the leadership of President Mohammed Jabbar and his team, was instrumental in managing hospital discharge and securing travel arrangements. Dedicated members such as Veera Swamy, Gangi Reddy, Satish, Sahafi, Hussain Shabbir, and Shaik Imtiyaz worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth completion of the process.
Special assistance came from Balakishan’s Kafeel (sponsor), hospital staff, and volunteers, who extended full cooperation during the repatriation process. Notably, a wheelchair provided by Hussain Shabbir ensured his comfort while traveling.
Balakishan has now been flown to Hyderabad via Air India Express and is expected to arrive at 10:50 PM tonight. His village head, Satish, is accompanying him to provide continued care and assistance upon his return.
GTF expressed deep gratitude to the Indian Embassy and other stakeholders for their critical role in settling financial and logistical matters. Recognizing Balakishan’s ongoing medical needs, the Forum has appealed to the Telangana Chief Minister, Shri Revanth Reddy, and the NRI Coordination Team, led by Bheem Reddy, for sustained support in his treatment and rehabilitation.
