Patna, Bihar – In a dynamic shift on Bihar’s political landscape, the Jan Suraaj movement is emerging not just as a slogan-driven campaign, but as a force representing the aspirations of the people. Last Thursday, a special meeting was convened by the Jan Suraaj organization in Bakarpani Ganj, drawing a substantial gathering of local residents and grassroots workers from various districts.
The meeting focused on strengthening the organizational framework, expanding the “Badlaav Dastakht” (Signature for Change) campaign to every panchayat, and promoting leadership at the grassroots level. A highlight of the gathering was the formal appointment of esteemed educationist and social activist Obaidur Rahman as the Overseas Coordinator for Jan Suraaj.

Rahman’s appointment signifies the movement’s expanding vision—not just within Bihar but on a global stage. With a significant number of Biharis residing across the Gulf and around the world, his selection resonates strongly with the diaspora. Having spent several years in Saudi Arabia, Rahman played a pivotal role through the Bihar Foundation in uniting Biharis abroad and voicing their concerns effectively. Upon returning to India, he dedicated himself to the educational and social upliftment of marginalized and underprivileged communities.
This strategic decision by the Jan Suraaj Party reflects its foresight and inclusive approach. At a time when established political forces seem to be losing ground, Jan Suraaj is exploring new horizons and fostering a leadership rooted in vision and grassroots strength.
