
Jeddah – Indian Doctors Medical Forum IDMF in association with the Indian Consulate, Jeddah, organized a blood donation camp at King Abdul Aziz University Hospital.
IDMF ‘s objective for this activity was to collect blood donations for patients in need, especially the rare blood groups, while promoting awareness about the importance of blood donation.
The event was inaugurated by Consul (Commerce & Pic) Mohammed Hashem who interacted with the donors and was welcomed by IDMF President Dr. Ashfaq Maniyar senior Registrar at King Abdulaziz University hospital and IDMF Vice President Public Relations & Communication Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, Diabetes Care Specialist.
Dr. Ashfaq Maniyar, President of IDMF explained the benefits and medical aspects of blood donation to the donors.
The Indian community under different cultural and social organizations actively partipated in the donation camp.
IDMF vice president Dr. Revathy, General Secretary Dr. Mohd Salem and Joint Secretary Dr. Farheen Taha actively participated in the campaign.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made significant strides in blood donation. The Ministry of Health has also launched initiatives to encourage citizens to donate blood, including a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation.
The blood donation camp was one among the many other activities in the field of health care between India and Saudi Arabia with the active participation of the Indian Diaspora in Jeddah.
