Riyadh, August 8, 2025 — The Embassy of India in Riyadh officially highlighted the grand opening of Peacock Restaurant on its LinkedIn and X (Twitter) platforms, underscoring the new Indian culinary addition to Riyadh’s dining scene.
The inauguration was led by H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, and attended by senior embassy officials including Ms. Manusmriti, Counsellor (Economic & Commerce), and Mr. Sabir Yumkhaibam, Counsellor (Community Welfare). The ceremony was hosted by Peacock’s ownership and leadership team — Syed Wayez Ahmed, Mohammad Asghar Ali, Mohammad Al Jaidi, and Vice President Mohammad Zakiuddin — and welcomed a broad roster of dignitaries, business leaders, and community representatives from India and Saudi Arabia.
Peacock Restaurant is a joint venture between Wayez International Company (Saudi Arabia), Peacock Restaurant and Hospitality Group (India), and Majic Investments (India). Located on Farazdaq Road in Al Malaz, Riyadh, the restaurant aims to offer authentic Indian flavors while serving as a platform for cultural exchange between the Indian diaspora and the Saudi community.
As part of the launch, the venue showcased Karimnagar silver filigree works from Telangana under India’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. The artisanal display, alongside “Incredible India” promotional posters, was well received by embassy officials and guests for its role in promoting Indian heritage abroad.
The Embassy’s social media recognition affirms the opening’s diplomatic and cultural significance and highlights growing people-to-people and business ties between India and Saudi Arabia.
