Jeddah – In a commendable initiative, the Indian Doctors Medical Forum (IDMF) recently organized a #RaisingHealthAwareness session coupled with a Medical Camp, exclusively for the staff of the Indian Consulate in Jeddah. The event underscored the importance of health awareness and preventive healthcare among diplomatic and expatriate communities.
The event was inaugurated by His Excellency, Consul General of India Shri Fahad khan Suri where in he praised the doctors fraternity of their passionate work and gave an insight into the day to day work of the consulate staff and their need to take care of their health.
The Master of Ceremony, Dr Farheen, Joint Secretary IDMF Taha welcomed all the speakers and consulate staff.
Event Highlights
- Health Awareness Session:
The session started with a crisp informative talk by IDMF Vice President Public Relations Dr Khaja Yaminuddin Diabetes Care Specialist, who put emphasis on #healthylifestyle, #healthfood #sleep #physical activity, during his interactive session with the audience.
IDMF President Dr Ashfaq Maniyar, senior Ophthalmologist stressed upon the importance of eye care across all ages, the early detection of vision problems and the need to look for alarming signs and approach medical help.
Dr Habib Alam, a paediatric specialist gave an insight into basics of child care, the dos and donts in day to day practice with powerful power point presentation.
IDMF General Secretary Dr Mohd Saleem, a oral maxillofacial surgeon demonstrated the importance of dental care with special emphasis on kids and their dental issues.
- Medical Camp: A comprehensive health check-up camp was conducted, offering services like blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar checks, and general health consultations.
- Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Participants engaged with Dr Husna Nilofer, Specialist Gynecologist and Dr Rahimunnisa, General Practitioner clarifying queries on Breast awareness.
- Targeted Outreach: The event catered specifically to the staff of the Indian Consulate, aiming to enhance their health and productivity.



Objective
The #RaisingHealthAwareness initiative by IDMF sought to:
- Promote health literacy among consulate staff.
- Encourage proactive health management.
- Foster a culture of wellness within diplomatic circles.
This initiative was in alignment with the Government of Indias ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’
