Jeddah: The Indian Business Professional Network (IBPN) hosted a farewell gathering in honor of Mr Mohammed Hashim, Consul for Commerce, Press, Information, and Culture at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, marking the conclusion of his tenure on 10 December 2025. Mr. Hashim was formally welcomed at the event by the newly elected President of IBPN, Mr. Azizur Rab.
IBPN serves as an informal interface to promote trade and commerce, business alliances, joint ventures, and investments between India and Saudi Arabia on a bilateral basis. The organization seeks to introduce Indian companies to the vast opportunities available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while also enabling Saudi-based businesses to explore commercial and investment opportunities in India, one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. Over the years, IBPN has facilitated several business delegations and initiatives aimed at strengthening Indo-Saudi commercial relations.
The newly inducted Executive Committee of IBPN comprises Mr. Azizur Rab, Mr. Vijay Soni, Mr. Awaiz Patni, Mr. Zakariya Biladi, Mr. Asim Zeeshan, Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Mr. Mirza Qudrat Nawaz Baig, Mr. Qamar Saada, and Mr. Rana Mukesh Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Mr.Mohammed Hashim congratulated the newly elected Executive Committee and reflected on his three-year tenure in Jeddah. He described his engagement with the Indian community as a deeply enriching experience and noted that these interactions would remain lifelong memories. He stated that he departs Jeddah with a strong sense of satisfaction and fulfilment, having worked diligently to serve the community while promoting trade, commerce, and bilateral cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Hashim also expressed confidence that IBPN would continue to support the Indian Consulate in achieving greater milestones and further strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
During his address, Mr. Hashim also spoke briefly about the importance of maintaining personal well-being through discipline and balance, sharing a few practical insights drawn from his own experience.

Mr. Asim Zeeshan, the master of ceremonies for the event, acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of the outgoing Consul. Mr. Pradeep Sharma announced that the second edition of the Invest India Summit will be held in February 2026, featuring Indian startups showcasing their innovations alongside prominent speakers sharing insights on investment opportunities in India. Mr. Vijay Soni and Mr. Laxman Rajput highlighted that the Government of Rajasthan is actively encouraging Saudi companies to invest in the state, offering attractive opportunities across multiple sectors.
Mr. Awaiz Patni delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the IBPN leadership and Executive Committee, expressing appreciation to Mr. Mohammed Hashim for his service and contributions, and thanking IBPN members and the organising team for hosting the farewell.
As a token of appreciation gifts were presented to Mr. Hashim by Mr. Mirza Qudrat Nawaz Baig, Mr. Qamar Saada, Mr. Zakariya Biladi, and Mr. Rana Mukesh Singh & Mr. Azizur Rab, together with the newly elected Executive Committee of IBPN, also presented a bouquet to Mr. Hashim as a gesture of appreciation and goodwill. The outgoing Consul participated in a cake-cutting ceremony.
The farewell was attended by members of IBPN and the Executive Committee and concluded with a sumptuous dinner by Biryani Gate restaurant.
