Jeddah: The Striding Indian Global Network (SIGN) hosted an elaborate and distinguished farewell ceremony in honor of Mr. Mohd Hashim, Consul (Commerce), marking the completion of his impactful tenure in Jeddah. The event, held on 15th December 2025 at the newly inaugurated Imperium Hall by Saad Anwar, brought together some of the most respected and senior members of the Indian diaspora — a gathering so diverse and high-level that it was widely acknowledged as a rare moment of unity across the community.
The initiative for organizing this prestigious farewell was taken by Mr. Mohd Siraj, General Secretary of SIGN, whose groundwork ensured an evening of dignity, structure, and heartfelt appreciation. The program was hosted by Dr. Prince Zia, President of SIGN, who delivered a distinguished presidential address blended with Urdu shayari, creating an atmosphere filled with emotion, grace, and cultural sentiment that resonated with the entire audience.
The ceremony was further honored by the presence of Chief Patron Mr. Nooruddin Sahab, who delivered a thoughtful gratitude speech that recognized the value and commitment Mr. Mohd Hashim brought to his role during his tenure in Jeddah. A formal memento was presented by the SIGN Team, symbolizing the collective respect of the community, followed by a special gift presented personally by Vice Patron Mr. Saad Anwar.
Senior representatives from across the Indian diaspora — spanning organizations, regions, states, and cultural backgrounds — engaged in interactive sessions, expressing their appreciation for Mr. Mohd Hashim’s accessibility, sincerity, and support. Leaders from both North Indian and South Indian communities took the opportunity to convey their gratitude, reflecting the wide admiration he earned during his tenure.


The ceremony brought together leaders and dignitaries associated with Islahi Center, IBPN, IDMF, IISJ, DPS, and numerous other community platforms. Among the many respected personalities present were SP Singh, Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, Arif Qureshi, Eng Kaja Mohideen, Mohd Faheem, Osman Dabang, Eng Layeeq, Mirza Qudrat Nawaz, Shams Uddin Olassery, Syed Sharique Ali, Dr. Zergem Zia, Devendra Mundhe, Balasubranium, Mohammedi, Qamar Saada, and Ateeq Siddiqui, who joined other senior members such as Salah Kardan, Mir Gazanfar Zaki, Zakariya Biladi, Vijay Soni, Pradeep Sharma, Asim Zeeshan, Dr. Ashfaq Muniyar, Dr. Saleem, Dr. Imran, and Dr. Zia Nadwi. Their collective presence added immense prestige to the event, demonstrating widespread respect for the departing Consul.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Saleem, who also serves as the Vice President of SIGN, acknowledging every contributor and highlighting the harmony that defined the evening.
A community dinner followed, allowing for deeper interaction, reflections, and expressions of goodwill. The evening transitioned into a cultural celebration featuring musical performances by Wasim Mukadam, Amjad Hussain, and Asad Ali, adding a spirited and festive close to the farewell.
Mr. Mohd Hashim officially concludes his tenure in Jeddah on 10th December 2025 and will depart for New Delhi on 18th December 2025, where he will commence his next assignment with the Ministry of External Affairs. The community collectively conveyed heartfelt wishes and expressed hope of welcoming him back to Jeddah in the future, potentially in an even more senior diplomatic capacity.
The farewell was widely described as a landmark occasion — dignified, culturally rich, and a powerful expression of unity within the Indian diaspora. It also marked a significant debut for Imperium Hall, establishing it as an elegant venue for future diplomatic, community, and professional events in Jeddah.
