Jeddah — In preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, Khak-E-Taiba Trust (KTT) organized an interactive event in Jeddah to emphasize the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices for effective diabetes management. The event highlighted the role of a balanced diet, regular exercise, and consistent daily habits, underscoring that medication alone is not the sole solution.
The event aimed at increasing community awareness about diabetes and provided valuable information on managing health and regulating sugar levels throughout Ramadan.
Khak-E-Taiba Trust, a well-established organization committed to the welfare and educational advancement of underprivileged communities in Telangana, particularly among backward classes, has been working for over three decades to eradicate poverty and empower individuals through education. The organization operates a school serving around 900 children from marginalized communities, providing them with opportunities to become literate and break the cycle of poverty. KTT also runs vocational training centers in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Sangareddy in India, offering job-oriented courses to equip individuals with valuable skills for better livelihood opportunities.
The diabetes awareness event was part of KTT’s broader mission to promote health and welfare programs. The organization, led by Overseas Chief Patron and Trustees Mohammed Shameem Kausar, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, and President Mohammed Arif Sufiyan, along with an engaged executive committee and members, is dedicated to raising awareness about its initiatives both locally and globally.
Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, Diabetes Care Specialist at King Abdul Aziz Specialist Hospital in Taif, interacted with the audience and emphasized the importance of food, sleep, and lifestyle changes in managing diabetes. Dr. Yaminuddin, an alumnus of IISJ and Joint Secretary of the Western Region Deccan Alumni Association of Middle East (DAAME), stressed the importance of having three main meals daily and avoiding skipping breakfast. He also addressed several myths related to food habits and medications.
Dr. Yaminuddin provided detailed responses on managing low blood glucose levels and recognizing the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia. He also suggested practical tips, such as using charts on bedroom or bathroom doors to document important health-related information.
The event began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mohammed Mazharullah Jibran (Salman) and a rendition of naat by Syed Mohiuddin Quadri. KTT Vice-President Imran Kausar welcomed the audience and provided a brief overview of KTT’s activities.
Dr. Mohammed Haseebullah, Managing Trustee of KTT, attended the event as the guest of honor during his short visit to the Kingdom. KTT President Mohammed Arif Sufiyan expressed pride in KTT’s dedication to promoting health awareness and urged individuals to take proactive measures for their well-being during Ramadan.
