Riyadh – World Environment Day was celebrated at Alif International School, Riyadh. The celebration of June 5th was remarkable with the esteemed presence of a distinguished guest, Dr. Murali Thummarakudy, Director of G20 Global Land Initiative Coordination Office (UNCCD). He inaugurated ‘My Plant, My Future’ a massive initiative by Alif in connection with ‘Grow Green’ environment day celebration at School. The project aims to encourage students and the community to plant and nurture trees for a better world.

The Chief Guest stressed on the significance of joining small hands together for a world with environmental literacy and sustainable development. He touched and threw light upon various aspects of the environment and appreciated the role of students in combating climate change through their minor efforts.

Second session was with plenty of befitting answers to the questions and concerns pertaining to the environment, raised by the children of various grades. Dr. Muralee did not forget to offer his willingness to spread the idea put forward by the children when he gets to the stages of different nations.

Luqman Ahmed, the executive director of Alif group of schools and Abdul Majeed, principal, along with Noushad Nalakath and Fathima Khairunnisa were present at the function. Zanha Mehrin and Zayyan Ullah Khan graced the gathering with their welcome speech and vote of thanks respectively.
