RIYADH — In continuation with the Sir Syed Day celebrations, AMU Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) Riyadh organized several events, including a discussion on Waqf Bill, Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Webinar, Mushaira. And the recent in the series is Blood Donation drive, which is a highly noble cause for the humanity irrespective of caste, creed and color. The drive lasted from 8 am to 3 pm and was aimed at providing support to the local health system.
The Blood Donation Drive was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Zikrullah Tamna, MD Internal Medicine, King Fahd Medical City (KFMC). Dr. Tamna, who is a well-known figure in Riyadh’s medical community and especially known for his services during the COVID-19 pandemic, appreciated the enthusiasm of the donors and this important initiative of AMUOBA Riyadh.
Many community members contributed to this great cause, including Mr. Otaibi who was one of the prominent donors. Each donor was presented with a certificate and a commemorative cup. Additionally, donors were assured that they can recommend blood in any emergency, further reinforcing the humanitarian spirit of the event.
Dr. Inamullah Baig, President, AMUOBA Riyadh, Muhammad Abdul Khallaq, Vice President, and Dr. Syed Ahad Murtaza Alvi, General Secretary, thanked the participants and emphasized the importance of this initiative. He highlighted that AMUOBA Riyadh plays an important role in social welfare objectives. And is always on the forefronts whenever need arises.
This event was made possible by the joint efforts of key members, especially Mr. Zaheer Baig and Mr. Awab, along with Joint Secretary Prof. Qaiser Saqib, Treasurer Muhammad Sirajuddin, Muhammad Iqbal Abid, and other prominent cabinet members like Dr. Fahad and Mr. Ahmed Israr Khan were also involved.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Ahad Siddiqui and Mr. Abrar, members of the Core Committee, who were present for conducting the event in the best possible manner. His organizational skills helped bring the drive to a successful conclusion and left a lasting impact on the community.
