We get exposed to the social fabric of different cultures, traditions, lifestyles of other countries through the exhibition of international films. This was said by Deputy Ambassador of India Abu Mathan George. He was addressing the closing ceremony of the Ibero-American Film Festival at the Indian Embassy. The film festival was held from June 23 to July 5 at the auditorium of the Embassy of India in Riyadh.
Abu Mathan George added in his address that diplomatic, political, commercial relations are promoted through embassies. But through films, human relations between countries are strengthened. We have had a unique experience through this exhibition of films from different countries. He expressed his best wishes for the 4th Ibero American Festival to be held next year.
Ambassador of Mexico Anial Gomeztro said in his welcome speech that the two-week long film festival was a success due to the participation and encouragement of the audience. If the support of the cinema lovers continues, next year the 4th Ibero Film Festival will be held on a higher scale. Apart from the host Mexico, the films of the countries that were shown in this film festival included Portugal, El Salvador, Peru, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Spain, Venezuela and Cuba. While on the last day, the Hindi movie “Shaadi Mein Joh Aana” was shown.
