India Business Forum (IBF) traditionally welcomed the visiting Media delegation accompanying PM Narendra Modi and hosted gala dinner in their honor. IBF President Engr. Owais Ahmad briefed the guests about India Business Forum and its activities. IBF has the privilege of the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Riyadh. Many prominent members were available on this occasion including Engr. Owais Ahmad, Muneeb Puzhoor, Dr. Nadeem Tarin, Dr. Mohammed Ashraf, representatives of Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCIL and others.
An interactive session with Doordarshan News Channel officials Madam Kanchan Prashad, Additional Director General, Prasar Bharti, Rajesh Raj, Sr. Political Journalist, Ankur Arora Sr. Chameraman DD News, New Delhi, T. K. Agrawal, Engineer DD News, Bimlendu Pandey co-ordinator, at Red Chilli Restaurant, Riyadh was very intriguing as wide range of topics were discussed with the prime focus being PM Modi’s visit to the Kingdom.
DD News Sr. Journalist Rajesh Raj also gauged the pulse of enthusiasm among the business community at Riyadh with his rapid-fire questions to them as a part of news coverage to Doordarshan. Great zeal and fervor were expressed by the Indian business community representatives and were very positive and hopeful about the outcomes of PM’s visit.
This would be Prime Minister Modi’s second visit to the Gulf Kingdom. During his first visit in 2016, King Salman conferred Saudi’s highest civilian award on him. The Crown Prince visited India in February 2019, giving a further fillip to the bilateral ties.
India’s relations with Saudi Arabia have been on an upswing over the last few years. India’s bilateral trade with Saudi Arabia was at USD 27.48 billion in 2017-18, making Saudi Arabia it’s the fourth-largest trading partner.
Prior to dinner, the visiting delegated were presented flower bouquets by the President and members of IBF. The Forum also bestowed a memorable memento to Rajesh Raj Sr. Political Journalist, DD News. The photo session was followed by personal interaction and the exchange of thoughts.
