Gulbarga NRIs

The annual Iftar get together for Gulbarga NRIs and their friends was organized by Sadat Ali, President United Society in Riyadh recently. The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran. The keynote Speaker Sayeed Ali addressed the audience enlightening the issues the community is facing back home and measures to be taken to tackle them. He stressed that throughout the history of Ummah there have been lesser or greater issues and the community has found ways to overcome them passing through adverse situations. Hence we can’t keep blaming and do.  Just criticizing each other without any positive action is of no use, he added. While other communities are progressing, we are the greatest spendthrifts wasting money in wedding functions and other unnecessary show off things, he pointed out. He suggested that we could utilize this money in establishing good educational institutions thereby contributing to nation building. He highlighted that the meager number of institutions which were established by our ancestors are also in a danger of closer as grants are being withdrawn from the Government. He concluded that we should be optimistic about the future of our upcoming generation. He further added that we should strive to do whatever best possible within the framework of the constitution to combat the existing circumstances.

Another Speaker of the evening was Fazal ur Rahman who elaborated the deeds to be performed in the holy month of Ramadan and get trained for the rest of the eleven months. He recalled that many of our friends who were present last Ramadan are no more with us now. Hence we should value our presence in this Ramadan and do our best in performing the good deeds. Executive member of United Society, Shahnawaz shed light on the activities of the organization and it’s President Sadat Ali, a software Engineer from Gulbarga, residing in Riyadh for over two decades. Hafeez ur Rahman Pyare, senior Gulbarga NRI presented a memento as a token of appreciation to Sadat Ali for his contribution to Gulbarga people. Altaf Ahmed Shaikh presented the vote of thanks which was followed by dinner.
