RIYADH – In a glittering event held in Riyadh, “International Journalist Fraternity Forum” Riyadh Chapter released their annual diary. Mohammed Saifuddin’s book “Saif wa Qalam” was launched in this event. In the absence of IJFF Riyadh Chapter, President Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali, Mohammed Saifuddin with the support of other colleagues took care of all the management and administrative affairs of the event.
The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran by Maulana Mansoor Qasmi. The moderator of the meeting, Mohammed Saifuddin, in his opening speech highlighted the purpose and objective of the program and welcomed the guests. After which IJFF Global President Dr. Asif Ali delivered a speech and shed light on the activities of the organization. He said that apart from Saudi Arabia, there are branches of IJFF in six countries of the world.
Dr. Asif said that IJFF is a non-profit social organization which works to protect the rights of journalists and freedom of expression, as well as to promote brotherhood among the journalistic community at the international level. Apart from this, IJFF is actively working for the rights and welfare of journalists, writers and people associated with journalism institutions. IJFF organizes training programs, workshops, seminars, and symposia etc. to keep its fraternity updated.
Journalist K. N. Wasif enthralled the gathering by presenting an introductory sketch on the book Mohammed Saifuddin. Well-known poet and journalist Mansoor Qasmi presented a critical review of the book “Saif wa Qalam”.
Editor/Director TV 4 M. A. Majid while addressing the gathering said that a journalist is not only an editor but also a historian. What he is writing today will be tomorrow’s history. He said that Saif’s book will be a reference book for future journalists. He said that a journalist’s vision is always on the pulse of time. He appreciated Saifuddin for his efforts in bringing out such a remarkable book.
M. A. Majid advised that Urdu journalists should take short-term courses in artificial intelligence and computer applications to keep themselves updated. He said that the Telangana Working Journalists Federation would organize such courses soon.
Guest journalists M.A. Majid, Dr. Asif Ali and Naeem Ghori were felicitated. Shawls were presented to IJFF Riyadh team, diary sponsors etc. Toastmaster Syed Atiq Ahmed received the first copy of the author’s handbook “Saif wa Qalam”. Ateeq got the book by placing the highest bid. Nayeem Abdul Qayyum, a member of the forum, anchoredthe event in an interesting manner as usual. The event was attended by members of various social organizations of Riyadh and a large number of men and women.
