M R Sajeev farewell

Riyadh – Indian community in Riyad bid farewell to M R Sajeev – Counselor, Community Welfare, Embassy of India Riyadh. He retired from the foreign services after completing 38 years of dedicated service at various Indian missions across the globe. As he completed his last tenure of three years at the Embassy of India Riyadh.

During 38 years of his service from 1985, Sajeev served on various positions in different countries including Vietnam, Ivory Coast, Belarus, China, South Africa, Austria, UAE etc. He moved to Riyadh from UAE where he served at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. In Riyadh he completed his last year tenure to retire from the service.

Under the aegis of All India Steering Committee, the community farewell was organized in his honor on last Friday at Multi-Purpose Community Hall in Diplomatic Quarters in Riyadh. 

Social workers, community leaders and representatives of various social, cultural and educational organizations presented floral bouquets to M R Sajeev. Steering Committee members and presidents of various organizations expressed their views and appreciated the services of Sajeev. His down-to-earth personality and friendly approach was commended by all.

Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee Shihab Kottukad, President Tamil Sangham Ahmed Imthiaz, President Telangana NRI Forum, Abdul Jabbar, Sateesh Deepak (Samanway), Saleem Mohiuddin (Indian Financial Professionals Forum), President Osmania University Alumni Association, Sultan Mazharuddin, Farhan Hashmi (Indian Engineers Forum), President Jamiat ul Falah Alumnin Association and Purwanchal Welfare Association, Dr. Inamullah Azmi Falahi, Executive Director, Talent Arabia Co. Muneeb Puzhoor, Santosh Shetty (Karnataka Association), President Telugu Kala Kshertram, Revel Anthony, President Saudi Indo Medical Forum, Dr. Anwer Khursheed, President Rajasthan Welfare Association, Ghulam Khan and Ex Chairman IISR Wasi Haider Rizvi spoke on this occasion and expressed high gratitude for M R Sajiv for his excellent services for the Indian community.

In his speech M R Sajeev thanked the community members, leaders, social workers, representatives of various organizations and embassy officials for the memorable farewell. He said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts the largest Indian nationals hence it is very important to look after the Indian community here. He shared his experience how the embassy officials managed the situation during covid19. 

The Indian Ambassador Dr. Shuel Aijaz Khan and Deputy Chief of Mission N Ram Prasad were supposed to attend the event, but they were busy in Jeddah for “Operation Kaveri” where a lot of Indians were being evacuated from conflict hit Sudan and then sent to India from Jeddah.

Steering Committee Convener Eng. Mohammed Zaigham Khan welcomed the gathering while Abdul Ahad Siddiqui (Purvanchal Association) delivered vote of thanks. Eng. Sohail Ahmed conducted the proceedings as Emcee.

Members of the steering committee presented a memento of appreciation to M R Sajeev.
