Voting in a democracy is the duty of every citizen of the country. Democracy has given the people the power to form a secular and honest government. People should exercise their democratic power and right to vote wisely. These views were expressed by former Chancellor Maulana Azad Urdu University, Hyderabad, Zafar Sureshwala. He was addressing his welcome event “Meet and Greet – Zafar Sareshwala”  organized by MASAH Group, which is one of the high quality, large companies in Saudi Arabia. The Chairman of this company is Engineer M. A. Nayeem who hails from the state of Telangana in India.

Zafar Sareshwala is on a visit to Saudi Arabia. He said that education is the key to success. He said that the present time is an era of competition and specialization. Only those who excel in their respective fields succeed. Sareshwala urged Muslims to focus on acquiring knowledge. He said that just being a graduate is not enough; one has to pass the competitive exams and secure high positions in bureaucracy. As bureaucrats are the backbone of any government. He continued in his usual invariable Muslim bashing tone that most Hindus are peace-loving people with no grudge against Muslims. It’s the Muslims who need to change their attitude at large. The percentage of Muslims taking recent civil service examinations was very low and the success rate “left much to be desired,” he said. Finally, Zafar Sareshwala answered the questions of the audience in Q&A session.

Welcome address was presented by Abdul Bari, Advisor of MASAH Group. AIUS President, Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali presented a bouquet to the Chief Guest. Sultan Mazharuddin was the MC. The event was attended by members of the Indian community at the Holiday Inn Al Qasr presentation hall, Olaya, Riyadh.

Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali which was followed by dinner.
