RIYADH — Leadership, integrity, and democratic values took center stage at Dunes International School as the institution officially inducted its newly elected Student Senate for the 2026–27 academic year. The grand Investiture Ceremony, held on June 13, 2026, united educators, proud parents, and distinguished guests in celebrating the next generation of student leaders.
The high-profile event commenced with a solemn special assembly featuring Arabic and English prayers, immediately establishing an inspiring and reflective atmosphere. Dunes International School Principal, Mrs. Sangeetha Annup, welcomed the gathering with a powerful address on holistic development. She emphasized that character building and cultural values remain vital in shaping responsible future global citizens. Adding a touch of vibrant elegance to the morning, students captivated the audience with a flawless classical dance performance.
The energy shifted to one of immense pride during the ceremonial march-past. Led by the Girls’ Senate and closely followed by the Boys’ Senate, the young leaders marched with striking confidence and poise. For the student body, this procession symbolized a collective readiness to shoulder responsibility and serve their school community with unwavering dedication.
The newly inducted Student Senate features a stellar lineup of exceptional young minds. Anvi Sinoj steps into the role of Head Girl, supported by Naba Shan as Vice Head Girl. Leading the Boys’ Section, Barath Ramamoorthy takes charge as Head Boy alongside Ethan Joseph as Vice Head Boy. A diverse cohort of student leaders also assumed key portfolios across academics, sports, discipline, culture, editorial duties, and house leadership. Each appointment reflects a proven commitment to upholding the core ethos of the school.
During the pivotal Oath-Taking Ceremony, the newly appointed officials pledged to discharge their duties with complete sincerity and fairness. Dignitaries then formally bestowed the leadership badges, marking the official start of their tenure.
The event welcomed several prominent educational figures, including Chief Guest Mrs. Aasima Saleem, Principal of Yara International School. The distinguished guest list also featured Mudheera Mrs. Abeer Alghamdi; Mrs. Soji Abraham, Vice Principal; Mrs. Vidya Vinodh, Vice Principal (Mursalat); Mr. Shanoj Abdullah, Administrative and Finance Director of Daratassalam Group of Schools; and Mrs. Shanija Shanoj, Controller of Examinations.
In her keynote address, Mrs. Aasima Saleem reminded the senate that true leadership is about responsibility, not just a title. She urged the students to lead with trust and compassion. Highlighting the power of empathy, she memorably quoted Theodore Roosevelt, noting that people ultimately remember how much a leader cares.
Following a traditional presentation of a memento to the Chief Guest, the ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Head Boy Barath Ramamoorthy and Head Girl Anvi Sinoj. A unified rendition of the National Anthem and a memorable group photograph session closed the historic day.
