Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Jeddah witnessed an electrifying display of strength and unity as thousands of participants gathered for the International Tug of War competition organized by the Jeddah KMCC Central Committee. Despite being organized within a short period, this massive event amazed everyone with the exceptional efforts of the KMCC.
Held with great enthusiasm, teams from various regions came together in a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The competition was inaugurated by Saudi KMCC National Committee President Kunjimon Kakiya, during a ceremony chaired by Jeddah KMCC Central Committee Acting President C.K. Razak Master. Participants, both young and old, showcased their endurance and teamwork in intense tug-of-war battles, with spectators cheering them on.
The competition aimed to foster friendship among different communities while promoting physical fitness and traditional sporting culture. The well-organized event featured multiple rounds, with teams battling it out for supremacy. The grand finale witnessed a nail-biting contest, with the winners celebrating their hard-earned victory amid roaring applause.
The art of Tug of War, once deeply rooted in Kerala in yesteryears but slowly fading over time, was brought to life again at the Jeddah Khalid Walid, Al Ruzuk Stadium. The competition showcased the strength of competitive groups, with 15 teams that had triumphed in Saudi Arabia and the UAE participating.
The prize winners were as follows:
- First Prize: Remax Lighting Red Arabia Team – SAR 10,001
- Second Prize: PMYK Mundapuram Team – SAR 6,001
- Third Prize: KMCC Nilambur Constituency – SAR 4,001
- Fourth Prize: Start Alien UAE Canadian Team – SAR 2,001
VP Mustafa welcomed the audience, and Zakariya Aralam expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude. Prominent community leaders, social organizations, and sports enthusiasts graced the occasion, commending Jeddah KMCC for successfully hosting such an engaging and inclusive event. Many attendees appreciated the opportunity to connect with diverse communities in a fun and competitive atmosphere.
