
Jeddah, 13 March 2025 – The Consulate General of India in Jeddah hosted a memorable Iftar reception at the Consulate premises, celebrating the holy month of Ramadan. The gathering brought together a diverse array of distinguished guests, including representatives from the Saudi government, the diplomatic corps, the Indian diaspora, and leaders from various sectors, such as business, media, and culture.
The evening commenced with an inspiring address by His Excellency Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In his remarks, the Ambassador reflected on the spiritual essence of Ramadan, emphasizing values of compassion, reflection, and service. He highlighted the enduring ties between India and Saudi Arabia, underscoring growing collaboration in areas such as trade, cultural exchanges, and sustainable development.
Following this, the Consul General of India in Jeddah, Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, introduced the theme of the evening—Organic Iftar. He showcased the Consulate’s dedication to sustainability and its alignment with global efforts in promoting organic agriculture. The Consul General explained how the thoughtfully curated menu, featuring organic ingredients, symbolized not only a commitment to health and well-being but also to environmental stewardship.




The Consul General expressed profound gratitude to event partners, notably the Agricultural and Processed Foods Products Exports Development Authority (APEDA) of the Government of India for providing organic ingredients from India. Local collaborators, including the Lulu Group and Siafa Dates, were also lauded for their vital support, which ensured the evening’s success.
The reception culminated with guests enjoying an exquisite selection of organic delicacies, celebrating India’s rich culinary heritage and emphasizing the importance of sustainability. Amid a warm and convivial atmosphere, the event underscored the shared values and spirit of Ramadan, fostering a sense of unity among all attendees.
