
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Iftar gathering organized by the Riyadh Central Committee of the Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) at the Sulai Sadah Community Center stood out as an extraordinary event of cultural harmony, unity, and purpose. Drawing thousands of attendees from all walks of life, the event was marked by its strong anti-drug message under the theme “No drugs, just life.”
The cultural conference was inaugurated by KPCC General Secretary PA Salim, with Central Committee President Salim Kalakkara presiding over the ceremony. A poignant Ramadan message was delivered by Shafi Hudavi Omassery, inspiring spiritual reflection and community solidarity.
The highlight of the evening was the inauguration of OICC Riyadh’s anti-drug campaign by Bhagwan Sahay Meena, Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Riyadh. Mr. Meena marked the occasion by signing a symbolic canvas, kickstarting the campaign that aims to raise awareness and combat the menace of substance abuse.




Prominent dignitaries, including Kunji Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Nawaz Vellimadkunnu, and others, graced the event with their presence, enriching the proceedings. The anti-drugs pledge was led by Naufal Palakkadan, inspiring thousands to commit to a drug-free lifestyle. Attendees enthusiastically registered their signatures to join the campaign led by dedicated volunteers, including Faisal Bahassan, Ameer Pattanath, Shamnad Karunagappally, and others.
The OICC Grand Iftar not only underscored the spirit of Ramadan but also demonstrated the power of collective action in tackling critical social issues. This evening of unity, cultural pride, and commitment to a noble cause will long remain a beacon of hope for the community.
