RIYADH – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued fourteen royal decrees on Thursday, enacting a significant reshuffle within regional leadership and key government positions. The decrees, announced earlier today, entail the appointment of new Emirs for several regions and the assignment of senior officials to prominent roles.
Among the key appointments, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz has been named Emir of the Jazan Region with the rank of Minister, replacing Prince Mohammed bin Nasser. Prince Nasser bin Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Jalawi has been appointed Deputy Emir of Jazan with an excellent rank.
The Al-Qassim Region also sees a change in its leadership with the appointment of Prince Fahd bin Saad bin Faisal bin Saad Al Abdulrahman as the Deputy Emir, also with an excellent rank. This appointment necessitates his relinquishing his membership of the Shoura Council.
In other significant appointments within the Kingdom’s governmental structure, Dr. Nasser Al-Dawood has been relieved of his position as Deputy Minister of Interior and appointed as the Deputy Minister of the National Guard, with the rank of Minister. Concurrently, Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayaf Al Muqrin, the King’s Special Advisor, will serve as the Acting Deputy Minister of Interior.
Further changes within the Royal Court include the appointment of Fahd Al-Askar as the Deputy Chief of the Royal Court, holding the rank of Minister, and Tamim Al-Salem as the Deputy Private Secretary to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, also with the rank of Minister. Prince Bandar bin Muqrin bin Abdulaziz has been appointed as an Advisor at the Royal Court with an excellent rank.
The decrees also address leadership within key national authorities. Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi has been relieved of his post as Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission and appointed as the Governor of the newly named National Emergency Management Authority, with the rank of Minister.
In the education sector, Dr. Enas Al-Issa has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Education, holding an excellent rank.
Finally, Abdullah Zaqzouq has been named as the Head of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Private Affairs, with an excellent rank, while Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Seif has been appointed as the Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs, also with an excellent rank.
These appointments reflect a strategic restructuring aimed at bolstering governance and operational efficiency across key ministries and regional leadership. The decrees reaffirm King Salman’s commitment to strengthening institutional performance and ensuring a dynamic administrative framework for the Kingdom.
