Indian Forum for Education, IFE, Riyadh, KSA welcomed Somen Debnath – an incredible man who combined the humbleness of a bicycle with the pressing need for global HIV /AIDS awareness. He and his bicycle have traveled through 170 countries, meeting dozens of Heads of State along with other icons.
His travel has been peppered by horrendous anacondas, lions and other fearsome beasts of the “Amazon Rainforests”. Even more alarming was being captured by LTTE, Taliban and crossing hostile territories. Somen’s belief that “Every man has a true Human being inside him” formed the much-needed trust bridges to overcome these captures.
To welcome a person like Somen Debanth, is to further the teachings of Islam and Sir Syed Sb. It is a crucial requirement currently among Indians. Sir Syed always gave priority to the community over the individual.
IFE feels proud to celebrate people who work for a cause. The result of Somen’s efforts is evident. It needs to be replicated in every way and form, personally and professionally. Reach out to humanity in need, you will reach the human within. Keeping in mind the message of Islam, IFE is committed to working with a ” MISSION for HUMANITY”. This program was a part of our mission. A 30 min robust talk from him was a fresh inspiration for our students and attendees.
The program started with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Wasi Ahmed. After that, the President of IFE Dr. Dilshad gave a welcome note. Salman Khalid spoke about the journey of Somen Debnath and welcomed our guests, Shahab Kuttukodu BPD winner, Presidents of various organizations in particular Dr. Ashraf, Ghulam, Dr. Sayeed, Eng. Shakeel Ahmed, Dr. Tanveer, Prof. Tanveer.Vice President of IFE Shahzad Samdani also interacted with the guests. Few questions were asked by IFE members namely Saadur Rehman, Prof. Jahangeer, Arshad Jawed. IFE members Prof. Nasir, Eng. Farhaan and Dr. Jawed Masood were present virtually.
A vote of thanks along with delicious food at Mashall Restaurant concluded the evening. Shahjehan, owner of the restaurant also interacted with Somen Debnath. All members of the hotel and all guests present in the banquet hall give their big round of applause for Somen Debnath. Upon hearing the news of the arrival of Somen Debnath at Mashaal Restaurant, many Saudis joined the gathering and a photo session was held.
