JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – September 14, 2025 – The landmark Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) 2025, the Kingdom’s largest and first-of-its-kind international B2B jewellery exhibition, was officially inaugurated on September 11 at the prestigious Jeddah Superdome. The three-day event, running from September 11-13, has brought together over 200 exhibitors from India and around the world, showcasing an exquisite spectrum of fine jewellery, rare gemstones, and cutting-edge design innovations.
Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in strategic collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah and the Embassy of India in Riyadh, the exposition is strongly supported by Invest Saudi and the Chambers of Commerce of Jeddah and Makkah.
The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by a host of distinguished dignitaries, including HRH Princess Nourah Al-Faisal, renowned designer and founder of Nuun Jewels; Eng. Fahad AL Jubairy, Assistant Deputy Minister for Industrial Investment at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources; Mr. Khalid A. Al-Sheddi, General Manager at the Ministry of Investment; and H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia. They were joined by senior officials from the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade, the Jeddah Gold Council, and leading members of the Saudi and Indian business communities.
In his opening remarks, Shri Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, emphasized the immense potential for deeper cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia in the gems and jewellery sector. This sentiment was echoed by Mr. Khalid Al Sheddi of the Ministry of Investment, who noted that, “SAJEX provides a timely platform to strengthen trade and investment linkages in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
Delivering the keynote address, Ambassador H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan highlighted the natural complementarities between the two economies and the pivotal role of the Strategic Partnership Council in shaping the future of bilateral engagement.







The inaugural day was marked by several key events, including the reading of a special message of success from India’s Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. The event also saw the official release of the “Solitaire Magazine special edition on SAJEX” and the comprehensive “SAJEX catalogue”. A glamorous jewellery-apparel show, curated by Indian designer Mr. Ashfaq and his creative team with support from Saudi partners, added to the evening’s elegance, complemented by a captivating musical performance from the Indian cultural troupe VIHARA.
A central feature of the opening day was the “World Jewellery Investment Forum,” a high-level summit moderated by Ms. Manisha Gupta of CNBC News 18. The forum convened officials, business leaders, and experts for a series of insightful panel discussions:
- Investment Prospects for the Gem & Jewellery Industry: Featuring H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan and HRH Princess Nourah Al-Faisal, this panel explored pathways for seamless bilateral and global trade.
- Retail & Manufacturing: Co-creating the Future of Jewellery: Industry titans from companies like Sulaiman Al Othaim, Siroya Jewellers, and Titan Limited discussed consumer trends, innovation, and growth strategies for the GCC market.
- Labs & Associations: Harmonizing the Market: Experts from GIA, Gulf Gem Lab, and other key organizations highlighted the critical role of certification and industry associations in building consumer trust and driving demand.
Together, the panels underscored a shared commitment to advancing trade, investment, and innovation, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and India’s vision of a developed “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.
