JEDDAH — In a vibrant celebration of women’s creativity, skills, and collaboration, the Women Empowerment Forum (WEF) Jeddah hosted a distinguished community gathering on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at Imperium Hall, Rehab Walkway, Jeddah, bringing together international—particularly Asian—women for an inspiring evening of networking, learning, and mutual support. The initiative aimed to encourage self-development, confidence, and community engagement by providing a welcoming space for women to share their talents and creative work.
The gathering provided a lively platform for participants to present their home-based skills and handcrafted creations, connect with like-minded women, and exchange ideas in a supportive environment. Organised by members of the Women Empowerment Forum (WEF) Jeddah, the programme was designed to strengthen community ties and promote positive engagement among women from diverse backgrounds living in the city.
The programme opened with welcoming remarks by the organisers, including WEF Founding President Ms Fareeha Ali and organising team member Ms Anam Farooqi. Ms Fareeha Ali outlined the vision and objectives of the initiative, highlighting the importance of self-reliance and encouraging women across Jeddah to embrace “self-help” by developing their skills and hobbies, sharing their creative work with wider audiences, and nurturing their talents in meaningful and constructive ways.
Emphasising that even modest personal initiatives can lead to meaningful growth, she spoke about practical ways for women to refine and expand their skills from home. She encouraged participants to dedicate time from their daily routines to personal development, noting that such efforts benefit not only individuals but also contribute positively to the wider community.

The gathering’s chief guest, renowned Saudi media personality, entrepreneur, and cultural advocate Dr Sameera Aziz, commended the organisers for creating an inclusive and encouraging space for women to grow creatively and confidently. Expressing her appreciation for the initiative, she shared an inspiring message with participants, stating:
“If you want to become extraordinary, you have to step out of your comfort zone. There is not always encouragement, and I, too, rarely heard the words ‘good job,’ but I did not let that stop me—I made myself strong. Learn to appreciate other women, and never be the person who, when someone looks back on their life, is remembered as the villain in their story. Let us create ease for others.”
Her words resonated strongly with attendees, reinforcing the importance of resilience, mutual support, and positive leadership among women. She presented appreciation badges to members of the WEF organising team, including Ms Anam Farooq, Ms Shaeesta Ameen, and Ms Maryam Ali, in recognition of their contributions within the group.
Throughout the evening, organisers introduced activities aimed at encouraging women’s personal development and confidence, offering guidance on how to share their skills and creative work within the community. The atmosphere remained warm and collaborative, reflecting the core spirit of empowerment the forum seeks to promote.
Presentations were delivered by Ms Noor ul Ain Tahir on mental health and its importance for women. Ms Ambreen Nadeem spoke about women’s empowerment, while Ms Muezza presented her TNVR initiative (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Treat, and Release), which focuses on caring for stray cats and safely returning them to their neighbourhoods.
Participants arranged beautifully decorated tables featuring handmade and home-crafted items. Visitors explored the displays with enthusiasm, appreciating the creativity and craftsmanship showcased throughout the venue. Among the most admired were home-baked treats, hand-painted items, and embroidered creations, all reflecting the dedication and talent of the participating women. Guests were offered refreshments, including tea and beverages, while the organising team ensured warm hospitality throughout the gathering.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative and voiced interest in similar community gatherings being organised in the future. The evening concluded with a renewed commitment from the organisers to continue hosting supportive and uplifting programmes for women in Jeddah.
Ms Fareeha Ali thanked guests for their presence and acknowledged the efforts of volunteers and team members, promising further gatherings before and after the upcoming month of Ramadan. The programme ended on a note of optimism and unity, reflecting the growing spirit of collaboration and mutual support among women in the community.
