JEDDAH -The 39th Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was successfully held in Jeddah at the Consulate General of India, marking a significant milestone for Indian higher education in Saudi Arabia.
The ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India, Jeddah, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Mohammed Imran, Principal of International Indian School, Jeddah, as the Guest of Honour.
The convocation witnessed the conferment of degree certificates to graduates from across Saudi Arabia, celebrating their academic achievements and perseverance through the Open and Distance Learning system.

A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Ms. Wafra Khanam, who secured First Rank in MA English at IGNOU. She not only topped at the university level but also excelled among students across 25+ Overseas Study Centres worldwide, bringing pride to the Indian community in Saudi Arabia.
Her achievement reflects the dedication of students and the strong academic guidance and support provided by ECGS – Educational Consulting & Guidance Services, the official overseas study center facilitating IGNOU programs in the Kingdom.

The success of IGNOU in Saudi Arabia has been made possible through the visionary leadership of Mr. Riaz Mulla, Coordinator of IGNOU in Saudi Arabia, whose continuous efforts over the years have empowered thousands of students to pursue higher education.
Supporting these initiatives, Mr. Mehad Ahmad, Centre Head at ECGS along with the team members of ECGS, has played a key role in student engagement, program promotion, and operational coordination, ensuring seamless academic support and outreach to the student community.

Since its establishment in 2003, ECGS has played a pivotal role in expanding access to higher education in Saudi Arabia, supporting over 10,000 students in achieving recognized degrees from IGNOU while balancing professional and personal commitments.
