Despite Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi presenting credible and well-documented evidence exposing irregularities by the Election Commission in favor of the BJP, the Commission failed to offer any clear response, appearing instead to act as a partner to the ruling party. Participants at the table talk unanimously observed that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party’s Research Wing deserve commendation for their rigorous efforts, and stressed that democratic and secular forces, rising above political differences, must stand united in support of his struggle to safeguard democracy.
The table talk began with OICC representative Iqbal Pokkun presenting the PowerPoint presentation shown earlier by Rahul Gandhi at his press conference, and was inaugurated by Congress leader Adam Mulsi.
Adam Mulsi stated that the Election Commission, entrusted with safeguarding the integrity of the electoral system, had failed to uphold its responsibilities and appeared to act in favor of the BJP, thereby weakening democratic values. He added that Rahul Gandhi’s movement has been receiving wide support, which could translate into eventual success. OICC representative Iqbal Pokkun noted that Rahul Gandhi’s disclosures on vote-related irregularities reflect his consistent commitment to truth and justice, and that these findings will stand as an important record in the defense of democracy.
Navodaya Central Committee member Lalu expressed confidence that Rahul Gandhi’s revelations could inspire a wider public movement and emphasized that the INDIA alliance is likely to advance in unity, setting aside regional political differences.
KMCC General Secretary VP Mustafa observed that constitutional institutions today face serious concerns regarding credibility, transparency, and impartiality. He noted that the strong positions once taken by former Chief Election Commissioner T.N. Seshan illustrated how the Election Commission had functioned in the past, and added that subsequent legal changes have weakened the institution, raising concerns about the health of democracy.
New Age guardian PPA Rahim noted that, similar to incidents reported in North India, alleged irregularities in Thrissur had serious consequences, citing the case of CPI candidate V.S. Sunil Kumar. He stressed that opposition unity is essential in addressing such issues.
DMK & NRTIA Deputy organiser Zahir Hussain pointed out that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s stance in effectively countering the BJP—especially his steps to protect the federal structure of the country and his approaches to education policy—sets an example for the nation. He emphasized that INDIA Alliance will not allow the fascist “One Nation, One Election” agenda, and highlighted the unique bond of brotherhood between Rahul Gandhi and Stalin.
Expatriate Welfare President Abdul Rahim said that the actions of Modi and Amit Shah resemble monarchy, and that Rahul Gandhi deserves praise for exposing the hypocrisy of the Election Commission that bends to BJP’s will.
Media Forum President Kabeer Kondotty said that while Gandhi and Nehru are being replaced by Hedgewar and Savarkar, even insulting the Father of the Nation, national media is shamefully siding with the Sangh Parivar.
Journalist Jaleel Kannamangalam stressed the need for political parties to remain vigilant at the booth level. He said it is satisfying to see that those who once mocked Rahul Gandhi now acknowledge his extraordinary determination and fighting spirit, though it is regrettable that national media fails to fulfill its journalistic duty with honesty.
Political analyst and blogger Basheer Vallikkunnu said that while most national media tried to downplay Rahul Gandhi’s democratic struggle, he has been receiving unprecedented support through social media. He added that while the Congress Party’s social media system is strong, its publicity network still needs to be further strengthened.

Social activist Salah Karadan said that the very fact the Election Commission cannot even respond to the questions raised proves how authentic and accurate Rahul Gandhi’s revelations on vote theft are. He urged democratic and secular parties to come forward unitedly to bring the seriousness of the issue to the people.
Cultural activist Aruvi Mongam recited a poem that highlighted the continuing relevance of Gandhi in the present times—an era that has drifted far from the democratic vision of Gandhi and Nehru—as a mark of protest against vote theft.
